A DVD program is available to all groups visiting the Museum. Reservations must be made, and tours can be arranged for groups with special interests or needs. Call the Museum during Museum Hours at 630.833.1616 to reserve a tour date and time or email: email@example.com for tour availability.
Organized School, Scout, Camp and Child Care Centers with Museum tour: $2.00 per person including adults. Adult and Senior Groups are regular Museum admission: $5.00 Adults, $4.00 Senior Citizens. Friday is free admission for adult and senior group tours with an advance reservation.
Tours are offered to groups Tuesday through Saturday. The first tour starts at 10:00 a.m. The last tour is at 3:30 p.m. Total visiting time for group tours is one and a half hours not to exceed two hours.
Tours begin in the Museum’s lower-level “Rock & Mineral Experience” with an introduction by a tour guide. Watch a 15 minute DVD introduction to the exhibits in the Museum. Afterwards adult groups are free to tour the Museum. Children’s groups are given directions by the tour guide about Museum rules, the scavenger hunt quiz, and the Gift Shop.
Scavenger Hunt Quiz
The scavenger hunt quiz is on a third grade reading level and pertains to both levels of the Museum. The group splits in half to take the quiz (2 to 3 students per quiz.) The students answer questions by finding the exhibits. The groups then switch levels. The lower level group is allowed to visit the Museum Gift Shop in small groups accompanied by an adult. A large selection of low-priced items are available for children.
Children’s groups that do not want to visit the Museum Gift Shop can select low-priced purchases ahead of time. Purchases can be picked-up and paid for on the day of the tour.

Picnic lunches are allowed outside in Wilder Park for a small fee. To reserve a picnic area, call the Elmhurst Park District at 630.993.8901 or epd.org for more information.
The Museum lot accommodates cars and vans, enter Wilder Park on Prospect Ave. Bus parking is available on the west side of Cottage Hill Ave. A parking map will be sent to groups traveling by bus after reservations are made. Car and Tour bus parking is free.
