Archaeogemology combines aspects of gemology, archaeology, and geology to identify ancient gems to determine their mineralogical and geographical origin. Archeogemology aids researchers in the investigation of social patterns such as migration and trade routes of ancient cultures and civilizations. Presented by Dr. Cigdem Lüle, a pioneer of the subject, mineralogist and award-winning gemologist. Her company Kybele LLC provides independent appraisals, gemological education, and supports archaeogemological research.
