The style of art in France significantly changed with the opening of trade with Japan through the efforts of a Parisian art dealer. He changed the jeweler's pallet, as well as the subject matter. Dorothy Mikuska's presentation showcases works by Georges Fouquet, Louis Aucoc, Philip Wolfers, Lucien Galliard, and the premier jeweler of the Period, Rene Lalique.

Take a trip back to the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition to learn about the founding and growth of one of the most popular collections housed at the Field Museum and how these beautiful objects continue to amaze and inspire audiences. You will also be treated to a virtual behind-the-scenes tour of the museum collections and hear some of the unusual backstories about specimens not on public display.
