Travel by motor coach to Vulcan Quarry in Sycamore, Illinois. Collect Silurian and Ordovician Period marine fossils in shale and limestone. Collectable fossils include brachiopods, cephalopods, corals, crinoids, gastropods, and more. **Hard Hats and Safety Vests are Required for this Trip**

Join Dave Dolak on a trip to Braidwood, Illinois to collect Mazon Creek fossils at selected sites within the historic coal strip mining area. Travel by motor coach to Mulford Quarry in Rockford, Illinois. Collect Ordovician Period marine fossils in dolomitic limestone. There has been recent blasting at this quarry, revealing a new layer of collectable fossils including brachiopods, cephalopods, corals, crinoids, gastropods, and more.

Join Dave Dolak on a tour of the Chicago geologic story. From the 400 million year-old dolomite bedrock deposited in a tropical ocean to the hills and rocks deposited by the glaciers that carved our landscape 20,000 years ago. Light walking (1-2 miles total) will be required.
