Spring 2019

*Please Note: The Lizzadro Museum will be closing in Elmhurst on May 31, 2019. We plan to re-open in Oak Brook in the fall. To keep up to date, please check our website and sign-up for our e-newsletter. We hope to see you this spring or in the fall!

The Rock and Mineral Identification and Rockin’ Jewelry classes will be suspended beginning in April. We will resume these classes in the fall in our new Oak Brook location. To schedule a program for fall, please contact the educator in August for availability, educator@lizzadromuseum.org

“A gem of a museum”

– Pioneer Press

1990 to 2019

The Museum’s 50th Anniversary celebration featured Florentine mosaics and mosaicists from Italy.
Peruvian lapidary, Luis Aparicio instructs a carving workshop.

In the last 29 years the Museum has hosted numerous local, national and international lapidary artists, held over 1,000 weekend programs and organized nearly 100 collecting field trips. We could not have done it without the help of our dedicated staff, volunteers and support from our patrons and members.

Annual collecting field trips have remained popular since 1998.
Gemologist Sakina Bharani is a dedicated volunteer and presenter of gemology themed lectures.

As we close our doors in Elmhurst at the end of May, we hope you will join us at our new location in Oak Brook, opening in the fall of 2019. We look forward to sharing our experience of rocks & minerals and appreciating the beauty of lapidary art.

Thanks for the memories Elmhurst!
