Grants Received for 2023 Programs and Exhibits
The Lizzadro Museum is proud to announce the following grants for 2023. The Illinois Arts Council Agency $13,800 for general operating support of programs and exhibits. The DuPage Foundation $2,500 for Community Music Programs. The Daniel F. and Ada L. Rice Foundation $5,000 for educational programs support. We are thankful for the funds provided by these organizations to continue sharing our unique blend of programs and exhibits with the public.
Winter Community Music Programs
Six small ensemble concerts will be held in the intimate setting of our lecture hall. This year our programs will feature culturally diverse music genres. Musicians from the Chicago area will perform and discuss their musical styles, instruments, and connections to the community.
All Performances – 2:00 p.m. – 45 to 60 minutes – Recommended for Ages 10 years to Adult.

Downtown Charlie Brown Blues Duo
Charlie Brown (keyboard and vocals) and Harry Binford (acoustic guitar) perform the best of Delta and early Chicago blues. Harry and Charlie have been performing in the Chicago area and regionally since 2017. Charlie is a real storyteller, and you will hear stories about the legendary blues artists and their songs. Did Robert Johnson really sell his soul to the devil? Come out and let Charlie tell you what really happened.

Art + Adrenaline
Howard Levy Jazz Duo
Howard Levy is a two-time Grammy-award winning master of the diatonic harmonica and a superb pianist performing along with Chris Siebold on steel resonator guitar and vocals. The duo has performed to great acclaim in the U.S., Europe, and South America. Join us for a spirited hour of jazz, blues, pop, classical and original compositions that transcend genre or category.
Chris Siebold is a guitar instructor and an alumnus of Elmhurst University.

Chinese Zither with Menghua Guan
Explore the guzheng (Chinese zither), a 21-string harp-like instrument with Menghua Guan, instructor and performer for over 20 years and founder of Guan Menghua Music studio in Naperville. Guan has performed all over the Chicago area and in China. Her emphasis in teaching is on stage presentation, such as harmony of body and finger movements, and breath while playing. Her performance will include exploration of the over 2,500-year history of the guzheng. Depictions of the guzheng can be seen on a few of the Museum’s carvings.
