Jadeite is one of the most treasured materials in Chinese jade culture. This lecture explores where and how jadeite is formed, what makes it rare and valuable, how rough jadeite is traded, common scams in the “Jadeite Boulder Gambling” market, and its cultural development in China since the era of the Qianlong Emperor.
