Description
Dendrite is a crystal that develops with a branching tree-like form. Dendrites are pseudo-fossils, meaning they look like fossils, but they are not the remains of living things. They form when water rich in manganese and iron flows between layers of limestone and other rock types, depositing dendritic crystals as the solution flows through. The word dendrite comes from the Greek word Dendron, which means “tree”. Moss Agate and Tree Agate are varieties of dendritic quartz.
